As the time change, leaves fall, and temperature drop, so do our mood and thoughts. It is much more than holiday blues or a slight change of mood. People who experience this significant change in mood may find themselves withdrawing from family and friends or lacking energy to expend on normal activities. Seasonal affective disorder (also known as SAD) is a subtype of major depressive disorder and the diagnosis presents with depressive symptoms associated with the change of a particular season. In this episode we will discuss ways to identify and address the diagnosis.
