Welcome to My Video Description,
The electronic engine control unit (ECU) is the central controller and heart of the engine management system. It controls the fuel supply, air management, fuel injection, and ignition. Due to the scalability of its performance, the control unit is also able to control the exhaust system as well as to integrate transmission and vehicle functions.
The ECU manages all types of powertrain and topologies such as Gasoline, Diesel, CNG, Ethanol, and also Hybrid and Fuel Cell system.
Operation engine control unit
The engine control unit manages all requirements for the engine, prioritizes and then implements them. Examples of requirements include accelerator pedal position and exhaust system requirements for the mixture composition. Torque serves as the key criterion for implementing all requirements. The air-fuel ratio is regulated such that the torque is provided as efficient as possible. Besides combustion relevant functions the electronic control unit includes security, safety and diagnostics functions.
In cooperation with vehicle control units the engine control unit is able to support the future technology of SW flashing over the air (FOTA / SOTA).
The engine management also allows active driving safety systems such as ASR and ESPĀ® to intervene in the engine torque.
