What is PIM or PAM?

The concept of managing identities and accesses of privileged users is popularly called PIM or PAM.

PIM or PAM.
The 3 core components of the PAM solution are:

A: Identity Management. It deals with who is coming in and who is coming out, is part of identity management that uses AD Authentication and Multifactor authentication.

B: Access Management.
Who has to access what and when is part of access management using Role Based Access Control along with Time Based Access Control.

C: Privileged Users.
These are super users whose identity and access is governed with Single Sign On access to all types of devices configured.

PIM and PAM are almost interchangeably used. Since 2016, PAM is more popularly used.
