• 1)Natural control:
• It is a collective action of environmental factors, physical or biotic that maintain no of pest's population within certain upper & lower limits, over a period.
• The important factors of natural control are climatologically factors. (Heavy raining, hot sunshine, floods, availability lighting speedy wind, etc.) natural enemies' availability of food and evolutionary pressure.

• 2)Applied controls:
• These include a whole range of practices, developed or modified by man, that become necessary when natural control factors failed to control the pests.
• The different methods under applied control are cultural mechanical, physical, biological, genetically, regulatory and chemical controls.
Why is pest control important for food industry?
• The Importance of Pest Control in the Food Industry Pests are inherently drawn towards food. Hence, the food industry is one of the most vulnerable segments which cannot do without pest control to maintain their high levels of food safety. Pests are the carriers of a wide variety of disease causing bacteria, viruses and a host of other organisms.

• Controlling pests is a very significant task in the United States. Overall, it is protection from harmful insects and their costly damages. When people hear “pest management” or “pest control”, they may assume it is just the eradication of roaches, ants, spiders, or fleas. FACT:
• Is Pest Control Effective? The uncontrolled population of pests raises concerns about food and nutrition security, health and well-being, and even the condition of the ecosystem. In other words, the ability to control pests plays a very significant role in the well-being of man and the welfare of the ecosystem.
