Baltimore-area leaders are trying to persuade state lawmakers to pass legislation that would transform how the region's water and wastewater systems are operated. Baltimore Mayor Brandon Scott and Baltimore County Executive Johnny Olszewski teamed up Wednesday to testify before the House Environment and Transportation Committee to support House Bill 843, which would establish a Baltimore Regional Water Governance Task Force to manage how the systems are operated. This comes amid persistent problems involving the region's water management systems, including when water customers received inconsistent billing because of faulty meter readings.
