Published
Have you ever thought the day would come to your entire life would evolve around technology capable of accomplishing practically anything the human mind can well, I recently would an article from the New York Times that this could soon be a reality as Microsoft plans to extend a partnership with OpenAI, the creator of ChatGPT. In this video, I provide a brief summary of the article, including the terms of the agreement, the goals of the partnership, and the concerns of the technology that was mentioned to demonstrate the rise in big tech companies competing for a competitive advantage.

Following the summary are the connections to Porter's competitive strategy of differentiation, Mile's and Snow's adaptive strategy of an analyzer that both provide context to Microsoft's recent actions. Following that is a correlation to the moral machine debate, ethics of care, the rule-based theory, and the consequentialist approach that collectively relates to ethical dilemmas in management.

Concluding the video essay is a personal connection to the partnership, including comparisons to daily life that I feel we all can or will relate to at one point or another, along with a recap of the essay's core components. Below are also references to the article from the New York Times and outside research like, for instance, Forbes. In closing, this video is meant to collectively combine the competitive advantage steps of Microsoft's investment into the wave of new technology with a direct relationship to managerial topics as our lives are being transformed.
