VEText Open Slot Management

Open Slot Management, also known as OSM, allows Veterans waiting for a VA medical appointment to reschedule to an earlier date using their mobile device’s text messaging. OSM uses the established VEText appointment reminder text system to automatically offer a Veteran, who has a pending appointment, the opportunity to reschedule into an earlier slot when one becomes available. To participate in open slot management, you must first have opted into the VEText program and have an active cellphone number filed in your medical records.
