Vessel-Check for Vessel Managers - Quick Tour

Vessel-Check is a cloud-based decision support tool that allows regulators and vessel managers to assess biofouling risk, help prevent the invasion of marine pests and assist the maritime industry in reducing green house gas (GHG) emissions.

Its risk calculation engine is based on the IMO's guidelines for the control and management of ships' biofouling to minimize the transfer of invasive aquatic species (resolution MEPC.207(62)).

The portal assesses whether a vessel’s biofouling management is sufficient to mitigate the transfer of invasive marine species to as low as reasonably practicable. As an integrated communication tool, Vessel-Check allows for one easily accessible, central, global ‘point of truth’ for all marine biosecurity information.
