Using A Flipped-Classroom Model to Create Successful Learning Experiences for Hearing Professionals

Published
In 2016, Hearing First set a goal of using subject-matter experts to efficiently and effectively help busy hearing professionals and parents develop the skills and knowledge needed to successfully support deaf and hard-of-hearing children - all online.

We’ve been successfully meeting this goal for nearly three years, but getting there wasn’t easy.

This session will describe how we met this challenge with a flipped-classroom (blended) model.

You’ll see how we complemented an online community platform for self-paced learning assignments, recordings, and resources with live sessions in Adobe Connect.

You’ll explore the failures and genius of our design and production plans, gain insights into how we facilitate the self-paced and live learning, and how we prepare and motivate both the subject-matter experts and the participants.
