Uncertainty about what caused the rand to crash

There is still some uncertainty about what caused the rand to crash against global currencies, breaching the R19 mark last Thursday for the first time since 2020. Many economists and the business sector have attributed this to the ongoing load shedding crisis and South Africa's pressured relations with the United States.
