Towards land tenure security and inclusive land governance in Senegal

Published
The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) has supported Senegal in implementing the principles of the Voluntary Guidelines for Responsible Governance of Tenure of Land, Fisheries and Forests in the Context of National Food Security (VGGT).
Multi-stakeholder consultation mechanisms have emerged at national and local levels to ensure inclusive consultation and decision-making on land tenure in Senegal. Concrete and innovative solutions for land governance were also supported at the local level to promote access to land for the most vulnerable. These advances are leading to long-term results in improving food security, natural resource management and community resilience to climate change.
