The Value of Certification in Infection Prevention and Control

This webinar will discuss certification in infection, prevention and control (IPAC) by reviewing the Certification Board of Infection Control and Epidemiology (CBIC)’s recent market research study to determine the perceived value of IPAC certification among IPAC professionals and other stakeholders.

After introducing the CBIC, results of the CBIC study in thematic categories identified by those surveyed will be examined. The pathways CBIC is creating to support certification will also be discussed.

By the end of this session, participants will be able to:
1. Describe the mission and vision of the Certification Board of Infection Control and Epidemiology (CBIC).
2. Describe at least two benefits of certification as highlighted in a 2019 research publication.
3. Identify the various pathways to certification.
