The IMF's evolving views on capital flow management

The IMF recently modified its Institutional View to allow countries to use both macroprudential and capital flow management measures preemptively under some conditions to reduce financial stability risks. In this forum, Olivier Blanchard and Gita Gopinath will discuss the implications of this policy change as well as consider future directions for the Fund's work on the integrated policy framework.
