The 8 Types of Management

The topic of what management is and how to manage people is usually a vague topic with a lot of buzzwords around it. These buzzwords will try and create warm fuzzy feelings inside of you but you don't really learn anything about management. Some examples of these buzzwords are that managers should be caring, fair, helpful, those who lead by example, the first one in and last one out, and the list could go on forever.

In today's video I break down the 3 risk styles (job style, promotion style, and management style) which each contain the two sides of that style. There are a total of 8 management types given the different combinations of these styles. This categorization of management styles is the way I think about management. I have drawn from the same structures as the Myers Briggs which I include as a personality layer that sits on top of your management style.
