The summer crops in China are growing well with scientific field management in place, according to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs.
Apart from the double-cropping late rice planted in the southern provinces, the summer sowing season is over and most of the grain production areas have been planted with autumn grain, the bulk of China's grain output.
At present, early rice in southern China enters the filling and ripening period, and large-scale harvesting is expected to begin in mid-July. Mid-season rice has stepped into tillering and jointing period, with a growth trend slightly better than last year.
