Shadow Assistant Treasurer Stephen Jones says he doesn’t think the Commonwealth government deserves “much credit” for the management of the “incredible series of events” which occurred over the last three years.
“The states did all the heavy lifting during the COVID pandemic, during the bushfires,” Mr Jones told Sky News Australia.
“To go to the point of the economy, there are structural weaknesses in the economy that have to be confronted.
“We’ve got some big challenges that have to be confronted; on no measure can you say this mob have been good economic managers.”
