Spatial and statistical analysis of floods, Day 2, Session 1,14/06/2022

In this session Frequency analysis of streamflow and precipitation extremes were covered by Dr. T. The entire session is divided in to four parts: Assignment of peak design flows based on return periods, Stationarity assumed or needs to be checked, Precipitation frequency analysis for different durations and Analysis of streamflow extremes. The storm water drain design is also covered as a subtopic of assignment of peak design flows based on return periods. In the analysis of streamflow extremes again five aspect were covered: Lower-end and higher end, at site analysis (Single event simulation and continuous event simulation), Regional analysis, Joint analysis of extremes and Frequency analysis in a changing climate (Non-stationarity and Streamflow projections based on climate change models).
