Retrofitting Irrigation Canals With Geosynthetics: Bank Stabilization and Erosion Control

Published
The International Geosynthetics Society (IGS) Technical Committee on Hydraulics (TC-H) held a three-day workshop on Improving the Performance of Canals with Geosynthetics. This is Day 3's webinar session, which addresses bank stabilization and erosion control in retrofitting irrigation canals with geosynthetics.

ABOUT THE SERIES: Many parts of the world experience water scarcity caused by climate change. On the other hand, a constantly increasing population stresses the global food demand. One of the paths forward is to put in place better water management strategies to reach better yields and ensure food security.

ABOUT THE IGS: The IGS is a learned society dedicated to the scientific and engineering development of geotextiles, geomembranes, related products and associated technologies. The IGS has 48 chapters, over 3,000 individual members, more than 500 student members, and 160+ corporate members. Visit http://www.geosyntheticssociety.org to learn more!
