Long before the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, the ICT Management Office provides efficient and effective Information and Communication Technology (ICT), and infrastructure has already been given prime importance by the University. This can be seen in the establishment of vast and Smart Campus Wide Fiber Network Infrastructures on 9 Campuses including the School of Advanced Studies(SAS) and Open University Systems (OUS). The Fastest internet connection is installed on all the campuses, and the main administrative manager of all Online and Offline Systems used by the University, from Integrated School Management Systems (ISMS) like E-enrollment, Accounting, supply, Procurement, and all Administrative Management offices systems. A thorough selection of LMS Subscriptions like Microsoft 365 (MS Teams), E-Learning Resources (Vital Source Explore) to HRIS, and Other University required systems. Careful selection in purchasing or upgrading for university use computers and software. Integrating highly interactive university website(psu.edu.ph) inspections of computer laboratories, installation of CCTVs, and many more.
With the recent situation in the education sector brought about by the COVID- 19 pandemic, there is a need to improve the scope and organizational set-up of the ICTMC to be more comprehensive and functional to cater to the need of the University particularly in academic. The shift to the NEW NORMAL in the conduct of classes and the must sought BRANDING of the university requires the integration of all ICT related activities/programs into one distinct office.
