Post Training Webinar: Urban Planning Tools for Land Degradation and Promoting Land Restoration

Back in 22-26 July 2024, a 5-day intensive workshop on 'Urban Planning Tools for Addressing Land Degradation and Promoting Land Restoration' was organised by the UNCCD G20 Global Land Initiative and the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) in Bangkok, Thailand.

During the workshop, urban leaders, planners, land managers, environmentalists, and other stakeholders from 17 countries, discussed and brainstormed on the potential for various planning tools to be used to combat land degradation and promote land restoration.

At this webinar, our workshop facilitators share snippets from the technical sessions, field visits and the outcomes of group discussions that transpired. Some of the topics they cover include: the critical link between climate change and land degradation, land degradation and urban planning, planning tools, circular economy, and strategies to tackle land degradation.
