Portfolio committee on higher education identifies poor governance at EC tertiary institutions

Parliament's Portfolio Committee on Higher Education Science and Innovation has identified poor governance and funding inefficiencies as major challenges affecting the proper functioning of Eastern Cape tertiary institutions.

The committee conducted an oversight visit to higher learning institutions in the province, including the embattled University of Fort Hare in Alice, which is marred by administration challenges.
The committee engaged with students, labour and the management of the institutions.
