The National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine held a workshop in September 2021 to explore societal challenges facing nuclear power. The workshop looked at the nuclear industry’s history of public engagement, lessons learned from siting facilities in other industries, and best practices for community outreach from the social sciences.
