In this episode of the Perspective Prog. based on 'Corporate Governance'. Central Bureau of Investigation has arrested former Group Operating officer of NSE Anand Subramanian from Chennai in connection with alleged favours given to certain traders through preferential access to the NSE's server architecture and misuse of colocation facility. Last week CBI had also questioned Chitra Ramakrishna, former MD of National Stock Exchange who is accused of sharing information including about financial projections, business plans and board agenda of NSE with a purported spiritual guru in the Himalayas. SEBI has also taken action against both with Ms. Ramkrishna being forbidden from dealing in stocks, depositories, intermediary or clearing corporations for a period of three years, alongside a penalty of ₹3 crores and Mr. Subramanian restrained from associating with any market infrastructure institution or an intermediary for three years in addition to a penalty of ₹2 crores.
