Personal knowledge management applications 

Some many Personal Knowledge Management applications around these days. While I love Craft and I paid a subscription I see that it's missing tagging and the plugins to extend what it can do. The price is good and the sync built in makes it compelling to choose for your PKM app.
On the other hand. Obsidian has just gone to version one and has plugins galore. You can do so much with it, it can confuse you with how to set it up. My advice is to do it step by step. Use obsidian in a simple way to start with and add to it as you need more functionality. Go with the wiki style linking and the tagging - then move on to adding YAML meta data first manually and then automatically using Templater plug in.
