Neurologic Emergencies

Published
Neurologic emergencies require rapid diagnosis and treatment. Inappropriate management can lead to fatal consequences. In this talk we will discuss both acute spinal cord injury and head trauma, including the pathophysiology, diagnosis, and treatment options that are currently recommended.
Our speaker, Missy Carpentier, DVM, DACVIM (Neurology) is a board-certified veterinary neurologist and neurosurgeon who did her residency at both University of Missouri and Veterinary Specialty Services.
Dr. Carpentier and her husband own, raise, train and manage approximately fifty Alaskan Huskies. The Huskies race in competitive sled dog racing throughout the United States! She has also served as a puppy raiser for the development of future guide dogs for Guiding Eyes for the Blind.
