Modernizing and supporting Atrius Health’s data warehouse platform

Atrius Health is a major provider of outpatient care in Massachusetts, USA. It runs 30 medical practices across the region, which care for over 745,000 patients.

At the center of its operations is the Epic application, which is used by doctors and other employees to view and store patients’ medical information.

The Epic software and its database, along with the organization’s enterprise data warehouse and claims system, were all running on Exadata X3 and X4 machines. With this technology having reached end-of-life, Atrius Health had purchased new Exadata X7 machines and brought in Cintra to deliver the strategic transformation.

Cintra’s remit was to migrate to the new Exadata Database Machines in a new data center, and implement complex optimizations to the databases to minimize storage requirements and streamline management.
