Massey Dialogues – Moving Beyond ESG Investing Towards Better Impact

Join us Wednesday, February 2 from 4:00-5:00pm for the Massey Dialogues – Moving Beyond ESG Investing Towards Better Impact.

ESG incorporates social, environment and governance considerations into the investment process and now represents close to 60% of all investing. But does ESG go far enough?

While temperatures and inequality continue to rise many investors and regulators don’t think so.

This discussion will take a critical look at the current state of ESG investing and the standards the industry governs itself around. We will also introduce a relatively newer investment strategy, called impact investing, that seeks to generate intentional social and/or environmental impact alongside financial returns

Can more impactful investment strategies be the solution for societal challenges? We will speak with Adam Jagelewski, Managing Partner at TwinRiver Capital, an impact-focused investment firm; Inbal Marcovitch, Strategic Foresight Analyst, DRDC & former Special Advisor to the CEO of Standards Council of Canada; and Junior Fellow Leting Liu, PhD in accounting and management. The session will be moderated by Senior Fellow Anita McGahan (Rotman School of Management and Munk School of Global Affairs).

The Dialogues are open to the public – we invite everyone to join and take part in what will be a very informative online discussion. Participants are invited to submit questions to the speakers in real time via the Chat function to the right of the screen.
