(00:56) Tax Inheritance – Usually when people inherit land or other types of property, they are obligated to pay inheritance taxes to the county where the inherited property is located. LB-310 which was recently signed into law, will reduce most inheritance taxes beginning in 2023. UNL Agricultural Law expert Dave Aiken explains how this could impact ag producers in the state.

(04:51) Grain Markets – Doug Simon - We were joined on Wednesday by Doug Simon of Tredas. As the war in Ukraine continues, the grain market continues to make volatile swings up and down. We discussed marketing strategies during the interview, but we began by getting his thoughts on the USDA reports that were released on Thursday.

(11:21) Livestock Markets– We are focusing on the cattle industry this week. We were joined earlier this week by Oklahoma State University Livestock Marketing Specialist Derrell Peel. the U.S. Department of Agriculture recently released March cattle on feed. we began the discussion with Derrell by breaking down those numbers.

(18:11) Al’s Forecast –. Nebraska Extension Ag Climatologist Al Dutcher gives us our weekly weather outlook

(21:27) Risk Management – We're examining risk management on the high plains. at this year's women in ag event in Kearney, UNL Extension Farm and Ranch Management Specialist Jay Parsons discussed with attendees the challenges associated with managing drought conditions and price risk protection on high plains cattle operations.
