Welcome back for Episode 3 of the Mālama I Ke Kai Speaker Series!

This month our speaker is George Maina, a Conservation Scientist at The Nature Conservancy (TNC), where he leads TNC’s Africa Fisheries Strategy work. He has more than 15 years of experience working on linking science and policy to advance fisheries reforms and effective ocean governance. George will share with us some lessons on how TNC and local partners in Kenya are taking advantage of new natural resource co-management approaches and science to support fisher communities establish effective fisheries co-management areas that benefit people and the environment.

The Mālama I Ke Kai Speaker Series is a companion to the Network's Mālama I Ke Kai: Community Action Guide released in 2020, and will highlight inspirational work being done by communities in Hawaii Nei and globally.
