For 22 years Dennis pursued a career with the Lloyds Bank Group in the UK, but in 1990 he moved his family to Australia and joined the Bush Church Aid Society, dealing with the financial management of two hospital units and a hostel for remote children.

He then started voluntary work with Alpha Australia, which led to him and his wife becoming national co-ordinators for The Marriage Course, a position they still hold.

Their focus on marriage has also led them to travel, ministering to couples in Latvia and Ukraine.
