Leading from behind is a powerful leadership style

In his 1994 autobiography, “Long Walk to Freedom”, Nelson Mandela described a leading from behind as a shepherd. This leadership style entails leading from behind instead of from the front. The concept of leading from behind depicts leadership as a collective activity that requires knowing the difference between assertiveness and leadership.
