The IRMS Digital Preservation Group welcome Jaana Pinnick back for her third and final discussion on the IRMS Fundamentals of Digital Preservation series. Jaana explores the meaning of the term 'digital preservation' before investigating associated risks and challenges are. She also looks at the process of framework evaluation and context in order to develop a preservation programme for your organisation. The session provides an understanding of existing best practice to put into use; the resources that are available to help you write a digital preservation policy , and finally, how to use some free tools including SPOT risk model, NDSA levels of digital preservation, and the DROID tool to get your programme started.
