Nutmeg Notebook hosts Michael Greger MD (Founder of NutritionFacts.org) - Nutmeg Notebook Live . This will be a live Q & A starting with questions submitted in advance via email and any that we have time for from the live chat.

NUTRITIONFACTS.ORG is a science-based nonprofit organization founded by Michael Greger, M.D. FACLM, that provides free updates on the latest in nutrition research via bite-sized videos with captions offered in multiple languages, blogs, and infographics. We are a strictly non-commercial public service health charity. Nearly 2,000 videos on virtually every aspect of healthy eating are already available online, and new videos and blogs are uploaded every day. We also disseminate fact-based information through social media on the benefits of a whole food, plant-based diet for wellness, disease prevention, healthy weight management, and longevity, as well as maintain a Spanish-language site and operate several Chinese platforms.

Everything on the NutritionFacts.org website is free. There are no ads. There are no corporate sponsorships. To remain free of conflicts of interest, we chose to adopt a Wikipedia-type model where users make donations to support the public service we provide. NutritionFacts.org is a labor of love—a tribute to Dr. Greger’s grandmother whose own life was saved by improving her diet.

NutritionFacts.org was started with seed money and support by the Jesse & Julie Rasch Foundation. http://www.raschfoundation.org/ Incorporated as a 501c3 nonprofit charity, NutritionFacts.org now relies on individual donors to keep the site alive and thriving. We launched our acclaimed online health portal in 2011.
