Implementing Evidence to Promote Practice Change

Speaker: Dr. Allison Janda

In this talk, Dr. Janda discusses the tools utilized to promote practice change and improvement based on evolving evidence in anesthesiology both departmentally, within the University of Michigan, and nationally, through a quality collaborative within the Multicenter Perioperative Outcomes Group. Examples of mechanisms for facilitating application of emerging literature and for providing feedback to providers based on their performance within the field of anesthesiology are presented, potential benefits and implications of these strategies are described, and future directions are shared.
