How To Think About Risk Management - Payson Hall

Published
Organizations are exposed to hundreds of risks every day. So, how are you supposed to decide which ones are worth paying attention to?

If you struggle to prioritize risks to manage in your organization, you need to change your risk management mindset. Think about risk in the context of “Who cares?!”

For example, let’s say an API changes. Who cares? What’s the worst that can happen?

It could cost us five months, but what’s the duration of the project? What’s the impact of a five-month delay?

Every project is different, so every risk has to be managed differently. However, identifying worthwhile risks is easy by asking yourself, “Who cares?”
