Biometric Device Certification

Its fundamental objective is to provide quality assessed authentication or enrolment Biometric devices, including QR Code scanner device for offline authentication as it provides safe, reliable, and secure devices as well as a device that has met the UIDAI standards.

Process of Biometric Device Certification (Authentication)

A Technical Construction File (TCF) will be prepared to provide confidence to the Certification Body in regard to the Quality of the Device.

Duly file the application BDCS (A)-03-05 along with a replica of TCF, including paying the fee according to the schedule of charges.

Preliminarily, TCF will be evaluated by the Certification Body and Certification Agreement will only be signed if TCF is satisfactory.

Biometric devices, a test kit for image quality, and a replica of TCF will be submitted to the Biometric Device Test Lab (BDTL).

A Service Request Form (SRF) will be filed by the lab authorities along with the submission of the test charges.

BDTL will provide the Probable Date of Completion (PDC).

Certification Body or STQC will inform BDTL Head to proceed Testing according to the Standard Test Plan.

Lastly, TCF will be reviewed comprehensively, and if everything is satisfactory, including the testing, a Provisional Certificate will be issued.
