I've been covering some of the best high dividend income ETFs for income investors and retirees who plan to live off their portfolio dividends
I've been an avid investor in these funds specifically for the benefits they provide in a downward trending market.
The dividends provide exceptional returns but on top of that it act as a perfect counter weight to a dropping stock price.
Cushioning the overall downward trend.
The high income they provide also acts as a perfect way to dollar cost average into existing investments.
However there are some high-income ETFs that are subject to a very specific type of risk, and if you're not careful, this can have severe long-term ramifications on the returns of your portfolio. So no matter how high and attractive the dividend yield is, the results can be detrimental.
Which this brings me to nav depletion, yield on cost and dividend sustainability.
These factors alone can make or break a high income ETF, potentially leading to a catastrophic loss of net asset value .
So how do you identify this risk and what measures can you take to avoid it from happening.
These two I feel are not emphasized enough when looking for high Dividend income investments.
In this Video i go through in detail the specific factors that you MUST consider before buying into a Dividend ETF.
