“Structure-function relationships
in trees and forests:
New insights from fractal analysis”

– I will speak about the insights on structure-function relationships we generated from applying fractal analysis to 3D data of trees and forests. I will beginn with background information on the importance of structures and particularly structural complexity in tree and forests and present the methodological we use to measure it. Then I will present results from several studies we conducted and put the findings in the context of silviculural management and its optimization.
