FSMA Spotlight Series #10: Regulating FSM through roles & responsibilities, regulations & standards

Published
CONTAINMENT STANDARD EXAMPLES FROM SENEGAL WITH FURTHER CASE STUDIES FROM FSM REGULATORS

The session will present challenges and solutions regarding FSM and sewerage regulation through the ‘IWA lens’ of Roles and Responsibilities, Regulations, and Regulating, with a particular focus on the development, through a first-hand account by national stakeholders, of the Senegalese standard on fecal sludge containment, supported by GGGI.

Even with standards agreed, regulating the balance of government and societal investment, as well as cost-reflective charges, between conventional sewerage and the particular complexities of the FSM service chain is an ongoing responsibility for regulators - as illustrated by the IWA case studies, to be addressed through a conversation.

Session facilitated by:

Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI)
International Water Association (IWA)

Facilitators and Presenters:
