Federal minister Bill Blair on emergency management priorities, alleged foreign interference

Published
Federal Emergency Preparedness Minister Bill Blair holds a news conference in Ottawa following a meeting of his provincial and territorial counterparts. He is joined by Richard Mostyn, Yukon minister of community services, and Doyle Piwniuk, Manitoba minister of transportation and infrastructure. They discuss progress on shared emergency management priorities, including developing a national action plan for 2023-24 and strengthening the national public alerting system. Minister Blair also faces questions about a Privy Council memo from 2020 about an alleged foreign interference network that targeted Canada's 2019 general election. (December 16, 2022)
