Evolving ERP - Dan Aldridge and Anders Green

Published
Dan Aldridge from @pcg_business_sustainability and Anders Green from @AloxERP explore the challenges of transitioning from older ERP systems to modern cloud-based solutions, the importance of industry-specific functionality in ERP software, and the potential impact of AI on ERP and manufacturing processes. They touch on the significance of human expertise in implementing ERP systems and the need for careful consideration when selecting software and service providers.

Anders Green took his electrical engineering degree and jumped into industry in the mid 1990s. Database work at IBM, cell phone code at Ericsson, many embedded software projects on bespoke industrial devices, and finally image processing on custom silicon. After years in engineering, Green took over a local fastener supply business. Unsatisfied with existing legacy systems available to run his own multi-site distribution business, Green founded ALOX4 ERP just two weeks before Covid-19 hit. For all their difficulties, the lockdown years were an excellent time to hole up, think deeply about how emerging cloud and browser technologies could improve fastener distribution, and build out those solutions.
