Enterprise Risk Management, A Caribbean Perspective by Ambassador Ralph Thomas' Address

Guest Speaker, Ambassador Ralph Thomas delivered an outstanding address at the CRMA's 4th Caribbean Enterprise Risk Management Conference on June 15th.

Former Ambassador Ralph Thomas has served as Jamaica’s Ambassador to the United States and Permanent Representative to the Organization of American States in Washington D.C., until April 2016, when he returned to the Mona School of Business and Management where he continues to serve on the Faculty of the University. Prior to his assignment to the U.S.A., he served as Jamaica’s Ambassador to the Peoples Republic of China, resident in Beijing. He was also High Commissioner to the Republic of Singapore, and Ambassador Designate to the Socialist Republic of Vietnam; Kingdom of Cambodia; Lao People’s Democratic Republic; Islamic Republic of Pakistan; People’s Republic of Bangladesh; and Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (North Korea). He has a strong track record of economic diplomacy working with States and enterprises to generate and develop business and investments opportunities for Jamaica and the Caribbean region.

He is a Senior Teaching Fellow of the Mona School of Business and Management and former Director of Strategy. He Lectures in the subject areas of Business in a Global Environment; Business Policy and Strategy and Finance and is part of the Consulting Team of Mona School of Business, providing Strategic Consulting to Caribbean Enterprises. He has taught a variety of Banking, Finance, Business Strategy and Enterprise Risk Management and other Courses at the post-graduate level and graduate level.

Ambassador Thomas provides Executive Education Courses, inclusive of design, development and delivery and Business Strategy Consulting to the Jamaican Financial Services Industry and Manufacturing Companies, to improve executive and business performance and enterprise risk management.
