In this panel discussion, esteemed industry leaders will share insightful industry trends and perspectives across domains such as the digital economy as well as the green/sustainability, biomedical and media/cultural sectors. The speakers will also discuss the value of an interdisciplinary education for the future workplace and key attributes that employers are seeking for in graduates.

SPEAKERS

Dr Geraldine Wong
Dr Wong is Chief Data Officer at Grab-Singtel consortium (GXS), where she drives the bank’s data strategy and promotes data-driven financial inclusion. She has more than 13 years of experience in leveraging machine learning and analytics to drive consumer digital engagement across several sectors, as well as in leading innovative artificial intelligence initiatives and data partnerships. Dr Wong is also Adjunct Associate Professor at the Department of Statistics and Data Science at the Faculty of Science.

Mr Veera Sekaran
Mr Sekaran is the Founder and Managing Director of Greenology, which was established 14 years ago to realise his vision of transforming urban spaces into living, thriving habitats and sustainable ecosystems. This was followed by the birth of other affiliate companies, namely, Vertivegies, Greenologix and Evology, to provide solutions in climate-controlled urban farming/smart farming, development of green intelligence networks and ecodevelopment, respectively.

Ms Loh Woon Yen
Ms Loh is the Managing Editor of the Chinese Media Group in Singapore Press Holdings (SPH) Media, where she heads the teams responsible for newsroom operations and administration, partnership and engagement events and projects, as well as custom publishing. She also leads the Chinese Media Group’s efforts to expand its audience and subscribers overseas. Prior to this, Ms Loh was the Deputy Digital Editor of the Chinese Media Group and the Business Editor of Lianhe Zaobao. Ms Loh started her career as a business journalist with Lianhe Zaobao, after which she spent seven years spearheading investor relations and corporate communications at China Aviation Oil (Singapore) Ltd, a Singapore-listed company, following the restructuring of the company in 2005.

Mr Teo Kee Meng
Mr Teo is the Managing Director for Business Development of the Transmedic Group, the region’s distribution specialist in advanced medical technologies. Over 40 years, he played a pivotal role in establishing Transmedic as the top player for the distribution of speciality medical devices like renal dialysis, heart failure assistive devices and equipment like robotic surgery and advanced radiation therapy systems in Southeast Asia and Hong Kong.
