e-Government Procurement (e-GP) for Good Governance in Public Procurement

Public procurement plays a critical role in economic development. E-Gp (Electronic government procurement) allows transparent public procurement work with broader access to information and markets. It creates innovative opportunities to improve governance and reduce corruption.

Presenter:
Dr. Rajesh Kumar Shakya is a Senior Procurement and e-Procurement Specialist with a track record of advising more than 50 countries in Africa, Asia, the Caribbean, Central Asia, Asia, and Europe in public procurement reform and introducing and implementing e-Procurement. In addition, he has also worked with the World Bank, African Development Bank, and Asian Development Bank. The definition of e-GP and the e-GP Implementation Framework (e-GPIF) developed by Dr. Shakya is widely used by the donor agencies and the governments worldwide. Dr. Shakya is the author of widely known books published on e-Procurement - Digital Governance and E-Government Principles Applied to Public Procurement (2016) and e-Procurement for Good Governance in Public Procurement (2015), Green Public Procurement Strategies for Environmental Sustainability (2019). Dr. Shakya has a master’s in computer engineering with honors and a Ph.D. on E-GP. He is also a certified Project Management Professional (PMP).
