Distributed Access Architecture (DAA) allows cable operators to deploy digital fiber deep into their network. This is done by separating different functions normally handled in the headend using a method such as Remote PHY or Remote MACPHY. Flexible MAC Architecture provides a standardized framework to allow for interoperability of these DAA methods and equipment.
