https://indemandcareer.com/jan22 - In this digital marketing career walkthrough video, I go over just a handful of the more than a Quarer of a Million open digital marketing jobs in the United States on Linkedin in January 2022!

I do these videos not only to illustrate the insane abundance of opportunities available in digital marketing, but also to help you understand that every job posting is written in a kind of "Code" that you can decipher.

Most people take job postings WAY to literally without understand the mentality of the company's posting. Ever since 2011 when I started in the field and even more so now - there is a huge LACK of skilled workers in digital marketing. That means employers are more anxious and desperate to fill roles, so a lot of what they say in job postings needs to be taken with a grain of salt.

This is how so many of my students have gotten jobs that say "3-5 years experience REQUIRED" even though they only have a few months experience generated in my course.

I also keep reinforcing the fact that even if you see 100 applicants for a job, you shouldn't be discouraged because it's more than likely the hiring manager is tearing his or her hair out looking at 99 terrible resumes. (I know because I have been in that position). It gives you the chance to STAND OUT from the crowd.

Understanding how to read a job posting is an essential skill that should be taught in school, but isn't. (Then again, what essential skill is taught in school? Graphing functions?).

Anyway I hope you find the video illuminating, I talk for a good half hour and go over a ton of job postings and that's less than 1/100th of 1 percent of the total jobs available. Feel free to leave comments or questions below.
