Initially investigators had decided that the case was nothing more than a domestic dispute and that Obumseli had died as a result of Clenney defending herself. But a medical examiner, determined attorneys hired by Christian's parents, and a deep dive into her past revealed that there was no way that events unfolded the way that she had described. She had checked herself into rehab in Hawaii to deal with her alcohol dependence and PTSD, but on August 10th, 2022, it was decided that she would be arrested and charged with 2nd degree m*rder and extradited back home.
