CHICALIM VILLAGERS WARN GCZMA OVER ENCROACHMENT IN ZUARI

The Chicalim Villagers Action Committee (CVAC) has warned the Goa Coastal Zone Management Authority (GCZMA) over encroachment on the Zuari river. Chicalim villagers have claimed that Abhishek Engineering Shipyard in Dabolim has violated the Supreme Court order and failed to demolish the encroached structure. The Supreme Court had ordered demolition of the said  encroachment along with restoring the coastal area to its original state. Chicalim villagers allege that GCZMA has failed to take action against this encroachment and has demanded that action be initiated or else they will approach the Court.
