Calls on Embu county legislators to boycott the forest conservation and management bill

Published
Embu county environmentalists under the new Njukiri union are calling on Embu county legislators to boycott the 2021 forest conservation and management bill that is scheduled for second reading that seeks to overthrow the Kenya forest service's jurisdiction over forest boundaries. They claim that the bill seeks to repeal section 34 (2) of the 2016 act and if passed by parliament would undermine KFS 'role of protecting all public forests and permitting politicians to decide who can change forest boundaries.
