Arif Kareem shared his career journey and experience of building a great network security company to the recent acquisition. We will also discuss latest technology trends, potential of Pakistani startups and companies, and his advice for young professionals, entrepreneurs and investors. For the audience joining us on Zoom, he took live questions.

Guest Bio:
Arif Kareem is the President and CEO of ExtraHop that is on a mission to stop advanced threats with security that can’t be undermined, outsmarted, or compromised. ExtraHop was acquired by Bain Capital Private Equity and Crosspoint Capital Partners for $900M in 2021.

Arif holds over 30 years of experience with technology companies formulating growth strategies, driving innovation, and building teams that deliver superior results. Before joining ExtraHop, Arif served as the President of Fluke Networks, a Danaher Company, where Arif helped Fluke Networks, an industry leader in enterprise wide testing and monitoring, accelerate its growth through innovation and expansion of its product portfolio, sales force effectiveness, and acquisitions. Previously, Arif was the Vice President and General Manager of Tektronix, and the Senior Vice President and General Manager at RadiSys.

He holds an MSEE degree from Lehigh University and an MBA from the University of Oregon.

Moderator Bio:
Salman is currently the sector lead for consumer/retail/healthcare and tech in addition to the services/industrials vertical for BNP Paribas for the MEA region, where he is leading the team as a Senior Director. During his career, Salman has worked across the entire Private Equity/M&A value chain from fundraising and deal origination to due-diligence, financial modeling, deal structuring and documentation and post acquisition management as a Partner and Board Member with significant transaction experience in MEA region, Turkey, Pakistan and Malaysia across a variety of sectors (retail, consumer, services, industrials, FIG, infrastructure).

Salman graduated with an MPP from Georgetown University, where he studied as a Fulbright Scholar as well as an MBA from Lahore University of Management Sciences, where he graduated on the Dean's Honor List. He holds an undergraduate degree (first class) in Electrical Engineering from UET Lahore.
